Center Grove Girls Scouts - Service Unit Meeting

Julie Mick, our secretary, was ill and unable to stay for the meeting.  Below is my abbreviated meeting minutes.       ~Brenda

 

Welcome --Pledge/Oath

Treasurer Laura Stafford:  Checking - $4,478.30, Wider ops - $1,178.26, Totall - $5,656,56

Registrar- Jennifer Kolis  - contact Jennifer with any registration questions     jkolis1@att.net

 New Adult Registration- Volunteer application can be completed on line or by paper.  The on-line registration can be done by the adult and is nice because the application requires a social security number to perform the criminal background check.

                Dr. Seuss on the Loose White River Library, Wednesday, August 21   6:30-8:30

Slumber Party at the Speedway- If you add 2 new scouts (in addition to the troop size as of

May  30),  the troop will earn a free overnight at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  More information can be found at GSCI website.

Training - An Introduction to GSCI training session will be offered at White River Library on Thursday, September 19 from 7-8pm.   If you wish to attend this training session, please email Brenda Drake at drake-brenda@sbcglobal.net by Monday, September 16 so learning material will be available for each participant.  This is open to all adults.

 

Fall Product Sales Laura Stafford (starts October 1)  The scouts can start taking orders October 1, but the training will be prior to that date.

Cookie Sales Victoria Franklin (Starts January 11)  This is a week later than our usual starting time.

If you plan on asking GSCI or the service unit for activity funding it is important to participate in both the fall product and cookie sales.

 

Recycling at Mt. Auburn Church Two troops that regularly meet at Mt. Auburn have volunteered to help with the church recycling.  Thank you.

GSCI Beth Floyd, 

Johnson County Girl Scouts are going to partner with Goodwill to collect items.  Beth will

                provide more information to our Service Unit.

Breathe Easier workshop.  Tracy Wischmeyer is organizing this workshop in conjunction with St. Francis.  The workshop is free, but there will be a charge for anyone wanting a badge.  This activity will be for all ages.  More information to follow.
